DJ CAUSE & APHEKZ
BIO Born in Denver Colorado, he always had a passion for music. In his free time, he would scratch music on his turntables and edit footage from his camcorder.
Right now he is @ Metropolitan State College of Denver majoring in Fine Arts and African and African American Studies. He is striving to become a better DJ and a better artist.
Cause & Aphekz are like yin and yang; he can play hardcore joints and smooth slow jams.
What type of music do you play? Well, I play anything that sounds good. I don't discriminate I mostly listen to Hip-Hop, jazz, Classical, Reggae, etc.
What three artists have had the greatest influence in your life and why?
Well I would have to say NASIR JONES AKA NAS, because he has that complex rhyme scheme and he not afraid to get his hands dirty.
The second influence would be the WU-TANG CLAN, because each member of the clan has a different style, and how they relate it to kung Fu with there metaphoric lyrics. Lastly,
I would have to say Curtis Mayfield. He is an old schooler but his music inspires me to make music. His stuff is a classic.
Describe what you have done in broadcasting?
Well I have volunteered as program director @ MetRadio for 2 years. I also have broadcast shows called the CAUSE FOUS @ Denver Community Television. It was a mostly Hip-Hop documentary in Denver Colorado; this show ended because DCTV moved out of Five Points.
What would you bring to metradio?
Well I will bring a creative diversity of music, talk shows.
